Young Giving
The world will be the way we bring up the people who create this world. It is important that we have enough determination to get involved in issues important to us. In today’s world there should be no shortage of people ready to share their knowledge and sometimes their wealth.
It is worthwhile to start instilling philanthropic attitudes already in the young generation. The best place to build social capital is school. But something more is needed than just an hour in class each week or civics lessons in which students acquire theoretical knowledge about the functioning of a democratic state.
Hence the idea for the Young Giving project, which gives teenagers knowledge and skills useful in adult life, stimulates their creativity, and encourages them to cooperate and look for the most effective solutions for social problems. It helps them understand the idea of philanthropy. At the same time, it does a lot of good for the local community – it envisages the involvement and cooperation of secondary school students, teachers, as well as heads of NGOs and residents, which leads to closer integration and strengthening of local ties.
